9th EDITION OF SHOOT!

The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) has successfully mounted SHOOT! 2019; a professional and capacity building training workshop designed for film makers, television, radio, information and communication professionals.  The training workshop also targets scholars, students of film, television, theatre arts, advertising, public relations and upcoming/intermediate media professionals.

SHOOT! 2019 began on Sunday 16th and ended Saturday 22nd of June, 2019. The objectives of SHOOT! includes upping skills as well as the production techniques of participants, due to emerging technology upgrades, and the fast growing digitized communication spectrum. The National Film Institute, Jos, Plateau State served as the venue for SHOOT! 2019.

The training workshop rubrics were Scripting and Acting, Digital Cinematography, Directing, Production Management, Digital Editing for Film & Television, Digital Still Photography, Animation, Set Design & Construction; Costume and Make-up, as well as Producing Skills for Film, Television & Commercials.  The syllabus of SHOOT! provides excellent post training services for participants, in addition to high quality support and learning solutions. A hybrid of training and learning methods are used as catalysts for change, intended to improve and modernize skills and behavior to support learning objectives.

The learning solutions of SHOOT!, which are anchored by domestic and foreign resource professionals, includes the deployment of modern training facilities specifically tailored to meet the needs of participants.

SHOOT! 2019 was the 9th edition in the series of the professional and capacity building training workshops instituted by the Corporation from year 2005 to provide training opportunities for Nigerians across all spheres of the creative industry. Cumulatively, over 2,700 persons have so far participated in past editions of SHOOT! drawn from the private, public sectors; the military and para-military, the police, media professionals, students, scholars, film associations and guilds as well as private practicing individuals.
